About Us
Backcountry Community Centre is an off-grid wilderness lodge in Monk’s Bay, Falcon Lake. Our space is ideal for families and retreat groups to relax, unwind, and unplug in a backcountry space that feels remote, while mainland amenities are still nearby.
Getting There
The lodge is accessible only by boat, or 4km hike. Our staff will meet you at the mainland to help transport you and your gear to the lodge where you will have the entire property to yourself.
We are located approximately 2 hrs. East of Winnipeg in Falcon Lake, MB.
Guests can park either at Faloma Marina, or at Falcon Trails Resort.
We will pick you up by boat at either location.
Guests are also able to hike from Falcon Trails resort on the newly developed Eastern trail around the lake. We will bring your luggage to the centre for you.

While Manitoba is home to so many beautiful backcountry locales, the issue is access. Many of the most beautiful parts of the province remain accessible only to those who own property, leaving a large part of the population without a meaningful connection to the Manitoba wilderness.
Community is built when groups of people share experiences often rooted in a specific place.
Backcountry Community Centre aims to facilitate experiences that ground and connect people to themselves, to others, and to the natural world.
Our organization is guided by four core values:
Environmental Stewardship
Unconditional Belonging
Boundless Creativity
Restorative Practices
Community is built when groups of people share experiences often rooted in a specific place. Backcountry Community Centre aims to provide the space and programming to strengthen people’s connection to the backcountry and each other.
